Wood Trim is Here to Stay!

“Demand nationwide for molding and trim will rise 10% per year to become a $10.15 billion market by 2014, largely because of a revival in new-home construction.”  (PROSALES)

As a trim manufacturer who has weathered the storm of the economy these past few years, it was nice to see that there is a bright future for our product, Armor Coat®, one of the highest quality, whitewood trim and fascia products available in the country.  However, a recent article published by LBM Journal states that, “the dominance of the remodeling/repair and custom-building markets has put more emphasis on higher grade products” (1) and proceeded to talk about how PVC and other plastic trims could fulfill this need for a high quality product.  The writers of this article had obviously never heard of Armor Coat®!  Following the same format as the LBM article, here is why our wood trim beats the competition.

Curb Appeal Boosts Interest
“Whether homeowners are going or staying, improving the home’s curb appeal and perceived value has become a driving force…they want to differentiate their home...” (1)  Armor Coat® Trim & Fascia products are available in a number of sizes and textures to meet your design aesthetic.  All Armor Coat® products are also available pre-finished in any color imaginable through Color Shield, the exclusive pre-finish program at Belco Forest Products.

Focus on Hidden Costs
Although whitewood trims are usually more cost effective than plastic, not all whitewood trims are created equal.  Armor Coat® stands out from the rest with its two coat priming process.  The first coat, The Platinum Protection Package, features a borate and inhibitor solution to prevent termite decay, fungal decay and mold.  The borate solution also acts as a diffusion mechanism, pulling the ingredients of The Platinum Protection Package into the cellulose fiber for total penetration.  After the lumber is protected, a high quality primer is applied.  Although you may pay a little more for our product, we guarantee your trim will be protected from the inside out and back it with a 20 year warranty.

Stress Green Benefits
“Green is a trend that’s here to stay.” (1)  Armor Coat® is primed with a low VOC, environmentally friendly, water-borne acrylic primer.  This water-borne technology is less susceptible to chronic decay and therefore will not pollute the atmosphere post-installation.  All Armor Coat® Trim & Fascia products are also available FSC certified!

Choose Armor Coat® for your next job because “despite competition from plastics and wood-plastic composites, wood trim will remain the leading material for molding and trim…”  (PROSALES)
